Первый закон о Реконструкции
Принят Конгрессом [Congress, U.S.] в 1867, несмотря на вето президента Э. Джонсона [Johnson, Andrew]. Закон разделил Юг [South] на пять военных округов [military district], и южные штаты лишались права вновь войти в состав США, если они не ратифицируют Четырнадцатую поправку [Fourteenth Amendment]. За ним последовали другие законы, по которым командующие оккупационных войск были подчинены Конгрессу.
